Transport and Land Use Planning (GEPL350/450/550)
In this unit, students explore how land use and transport systems have evolved over time, how they operate today, and how they might develop in the future.
Students examine transport planning for urban and regional contexts, working across scales from the neighbourhood to the national level, and considering the social, economic and policy factors that shape decision‑making.
Assessment tasks introduce students to key techniques used by professional transport planners and engineers. Through this work, students strengthen their research and analytical skills and build practical capability in areas such as local area planning and transport policy. These skills will support their development as a future‑focused urban planner.
